To overwinter a coneflower in a container, you can follow these steps: 1. Trim the plant back to a few inches above the soil level after the first frost. 2. Move the container to a sheltered area, such as a garage or shed, to protect it from harsh winter conditions. 3. Water the coneflower sparingly throughout the winter, making sure the soil doesn't dry out completely. 4. In the spring, once the danger of frost has passed, move the container back outside and resume regular watering and care. With proper protection and care, your coneflower should survive the winter and thrive in the following growing season. **
